Pavan Gorup and Golfetto Sangati joined the Global Miller’s Symposium at Hamburg on April 20-21, 2107. The meeting was an extraordinary chance to promote the networking among professionals of the milling industry, scientists, members of the ICC and cereal executives. Representatives from all continents shared their knowledge about trends of the global wheat market, flour treatment and fortification and new baking applications. In this contest, ing. Alberto Barbazza from Golfetto Sangati held a speech about the “Sustainability and flour milling” by giving an overview on a zero-miles project that the company recently supplied in Italy. This topic is becoming more and more relevant in the milling industry because of the strong relationships that the milling and bakery industries are having with the environment, health, society and economy.
Pavan joined the discussion as well, with Prof. Luciano Mondardini who presented the lecture about "Technological challenges for a better soft wheat pasta" that is focused on the production process about pasta and its characteristics related to the quality of flour.
